Audio Demo Reel
Below are airchecks from my shows on WGLS-FM, as well as promos, imaging, and creative pieces that I’ve done. Click the play button next to any of them to listen.
Radio Airchecks
Daytime aircheck
An aircheck from my mid-day classic artists program, which aired mid-days and played a mix of the 60s through today.
Overnight aircheck
The Overnight Flight, which I voicetracked every Wednesday night. A similar format to the mid-day show, but with songs that lean more toward classic rock thrown in.
Thursday Late Night aircheck
The Thursday Late Night, where I played indie rock, singer-songwriters, and Americana music. This is a bit longer than the other airchecks (almost 5 minutes) since I tended to talk a lot about the music I was playing.
Radio Promos and Station Imaging
These are promos, PSAs, and imaging pieces created for Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM.
Tuesday Morning Early Bird Opener (Spring 2005)
This is the first piece I ever edited. I created it using Audacity and essentially teaching myself as I went along. This was the opener for the Tuesday Morning Early Bird Special, hosted by myself and my co-host Emily.
PSA: Rowan Public Safety Escorts (Fall 2006)
This is a Public Service Announcement voiced by myself and members of Rowan’s Student Community Policing Program. It’s a PSA advertising the on-campus escort service.
Grant: Kennedy Health System (Fall 2007)
This is a dry read of a grant for the Kennedy Health System, read by myself.
Promo: Wednesday Late Nights (Fall 2007)
A promo created in 2007 for my Wednesday night show, where I played indie rock, singer-songwriters, and Americana music.
Promo: Code Blue: Keeping Our Students Safe (Fall 2007)
A promo created for a 30-minute documentary on nationwide campus safety. It’s done very much in the style of the MSNBC Doc Block promos that I’d spent the past summer creating at my internship.
Promo: Saturday Night at the Oldies (Spring 2008)
A promo for Rowan Radio’s Saturday night oldies program. Voiced by Ryan Fitzpatrick and edited by myself.
Promo: Nothin’ But The Blues (Spring 2008)
A promo voiced by Jerry Friedman and edited by myself for his “Nothin’ But the Blues” program.
Two ID tags used at the beginning of Rowan Radio’s podcasts.
Creative Pieces
These are creative pieces that may or may not have aired at one time. Most were created for my Sound Communication class.
About Me
A 59 second piece all about my favorite topic, me.
The Telltale Heart
A rather fun assignment where I was given a read of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Telltale Heart” and had to create sound design for it.
What The Weekend Means
A short piece produced for “Sleepy Hollow” on WXPN, with members of the Rowan faculty discussing what the weekend means to them.
Documentaries
Longer documentary pieces I’ve produced.
Come on Rise Up: The Resurgence of Asbury Park
A short piece spotlighting the redevelopment that is coming to the city of Asbury Park and the attempts to restore its former glory as a summer resort town. The economy collapsed shortly after this piece was assembled, and redevelopment of the town has stalled somewhat.
Code Blue: Keeping Our Students Safe
A half-hour piece spotlighting campus security around the country. Winner of a 3rd place 2008 National Headliner Award for Best Documentary or Public Affairs Program.
Podcasting
This is a podcast called “Diner Politics”, produced for my Advanced Sound Communication class during the Spring 2008 semester. The discussion focuses on politics within the state of New Jersey, with a large part centering around Governor Corzine’s controversial debt restructuring plan.
